Mumbai, August 25: Bharti Airtel Chairman Sunil Mittal came in contact with Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee regarding the deal with South African firm MTN.
Till time today its could has not been determined that what come to light in the meeting, which comes at a time when Bharti Airtel and South Africa’s MTN last week extended their merger talks for the second time till September 30.
Bharti Airtel and MTN are in elite discussion before along time May for a billions deal.
Accoding to deal Bharti Airtel would be acquiring about 49 per cent in MTN and in order MTN and its shareholders may buy about 36 per cent economic interest in the Indian firm.
The two companies are going on with discussion along more than a year ago. The talk has been extended for a time period. Earlier the talk was extended till a month to August 31 but this second time it has been extended September.
According to sources, Chairman Sunil Mittal meet up with the Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.
The information is still not been disclosed.
