A better Hyderabad in 100 days

Hyderabad, December 18: Good news for citizens tired of battered roads, bad sanitation, irregular water and power supply. There may be a change for the better. That is what the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is promising.

While inaugurating the 3,000 KL Capacity GLSR and 1,500 KL capacity ELSR at Sainathapuram in Malkajiri on Friday, the chief minister said a plan for the next 100 days would be prepared for development of civic amenities by respective civic agencies like the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Central Power Distribution Company Ltd (CPDCL).

He said a meeting with concerned ministers, seniors officials of different civic agencies and elected representatives would be held in the next 3 to 4 days to chalk out a detailed plan for taking up developmental works. After 100 days, a review meeting would be held to know whether the listed works have been completed or not, he added.

He said the state government would concentrate on providing basic amenities and infrastructure in the GHMC limits. “All of us should strive to make Greater Hyderabad a better place to live in and make this city one of the best not only in the country but also in the world,” Kiran Kumar Reddy observed. Regarding future drinking water needs of the city, he said not only the Krishna but also the Godavari project was needed.

Home minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), M Maheedhar Reddy, Malkajgiri MP Sarve Satyanarayana, Malkajgiri MLA Akula Rajender and others were present.
