Better than expected response to Racha Banda: CM

Hyderabad, January 31: Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday stated that the ‘Racha Banda’ programme taken up by his government from January 24 throughout the State has evoked better response than expected.

In a statement, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the response to the programme from the applicants is very high.

He however said that it has come to his notice that many people especially those belonging to the poorer sections are representing to redress other problems also apart from the seven prioritized issues of the programme.

In this backdrop, the Chief Minister said that he has instructed the district Collectors and the Planning Department to receive each and every application during the Racha Banda programme without fail.

He made it clear that if any of the poor people during the course of Racha Banda programme represent any new issues/problems other than the seven prioritized issues, all those applications should also be received and processed for redressal.

It may be recalled that the Chief Minister has already instructed the administration to streamline and process the applications received during the Racha Banda programmes on the seven prioritized issues like distribution of Ration Cards/Coupons, YSR Abhaya Hastham, Pensions, Rajiv Arogyasri, Mahatma Gandhi NREGS, Pavala Vaddi and Indiramma Housing.

The Chief Minister had launched the ‘Racha Banda ’programme in the State at Rajam-Dolapet Nagara Panchayat of Srikakulam district on January 24 which was received well and made success by the public.

Later the Chief Minister participated in the programmes at Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts which were also attended by the public in large numbers and made success.

On Monday, the Chief Minister will participate in the programme at Anupalli. Anupalli is the village where former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was actually scheduled to launch the ‘Racha Banda ’in September, 2009.
