Jind: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the nationwide campaign from Haryana’s Panipat town in January this year to promote the cause of the girl child and to create awareness about the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ programme.
The state government is planning to get the logo of the ‘Save the Girl Child campaign’ to be stamped on the hand of the voter in addition to the indelible ink applied on the finger during the forthcoming panchayat elections.
The child sex ratio in Haryana is the worst among all the states in the country. The Polling for Panchayat elections would be conducted in three phases starting January 10, 2016 in Haryana, where 1,10,09,317 people are eligible to cast their ballot, of which 59,04,696 are men and 51,04,621 are women.
Haryana Women and Child Minister Kavita Jain declared this to reporters at a function Jind.
