BENGALURU: An atmosphere of tension has enveloped in Bengaluru after ‘BJP goons’ confronted a woman to remove a green-colored flag hanging outside her apartment and apparently force her to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai.’
The incident took place in Virat Nagar in the Bommanahalli area of Karnatak’s Bengaluru has now gone viral on the internet.
In a video captured by the supporters, a group of men with saffron colored scarves around their necks were seen on the balcony of the woman’s apartment and attempts to took down the green colored flag from a house.
According to Deccan Herald reports, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) corporator C R Ramamohan Raju took down the flag from a house belonged to one Syed Sharif.
When Sharif’s mother tried to convince them, Raju and the goons who were campaigning for the BJP candidate for Bangalore South, Tejasvi Surya chanted slogans such as ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’
Local Muslim leaders condemned the incident which occurred at a time when campaigning for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls has reached a fever pitch.
