Bengaluru school to donate Rs 50 lakh to soldiers

Bengaluru: Rs 50 lakh was put together by the Students, teachers and management of a school in a city to donate it to the Army Welfare Fund.

According to Times of India, the idea was inspired when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi requested the people of country to greet the soldiers by sending inspirational messages to Indian Army during Diwali.

Mohan Manghnani, the Chairman of the New Horizon Educational Institution will give the money to the Major General KS Nijjar, general officer commanding, Karnataka and Kerala sub-area on Thursday.

He said, “After getting inspired by PM Modi’s #Sandesh2Soldiers call last month, we decided to carry on with our mission in supporting our armed forces. This is our humble contribution.”
