Bengaluru: Over 2 dozen Swiggy employees ransack Hotel Empire

Bengaluru: As many as 30 employees of Swiggy and Hotel Empire Arekere was arrested after a clash broke out between the two after they completely ransacked Arekere over a petty issue located at Bannerghatta Road on Saturday midnight.

The Hotel’s windowpanes furniture were damaged said reports, TOI reports.

“We have arrested around 30 people, including 21 employees of Swiggy,” said MB Boralingaiah, DCP (southeast).

According to the Police, Swiggy employee, Nadeem broke into an argument after his bike grazed with the bike of the Hotel Empire’s employee who was also returning home around 8 pm.

However, the argument seemed to have settled down after the Traffic police intervened but turns out Nadeem allegedly rushed to the hotel where he and Farooq started hitting each other around 9.30pm.

The Hotel manager immediately alerted the cops but until the Police arrived more than 30 supporters of Nadeem had reached the spot and ransacked the hotel by throwing stones at the hotels window panes.

The Jurisdictional police, however, reached spot before things got way too out of the hands and dispersed the crowd by resorting to a mild lathi charge.

Police have recorded the statements of both Nadeem and Farooq.

“We have registered a case against Nadeem and his supporters for damaging the hotel and assaulting its staff. A counter-case was registered against Farooq for allegedly assaulting Nadeem and others,” said DCP Boralingaiah.
