Bengaluru becomes India’s first city to have its own logo

Bengaluru: In an attempts to revive Bengaluru for tourism purpose, the Karnataka government on Sunday launched its logo. Bengaluru has joined cities like New York and Amsterdam for getting a city logo like this.

For quite sometime now, the IT hub is criticized over it’s bad condition of roads and garbage heaps. The move has been taken to make the city a tourism spot.

The logo contains red and white colours that portray the culture of the city, with characters in English which also resemble Kannada.

State tourism minister, Priyank Kharge, told HT that although the city was a brand in terms of investment, it was not so for tourism. “We wanted to remedy this and portray the rich history and culture of the city,” he said. It was his idea to come up with the logo.

The logo was designed by Nammur, a design start-up, which won a contest receiving the prize money of Rs 5 lakh from the government.
