Bengaluru: A regular drive against helmetless riders shocked Chikkabalapura police cops when the rider took out a blood-soaked knife.
According to reports, the Chikkaballapura police stopped a rider near MG Road in the town and asked him to furnish documents of his sports bike, driving license along with fining the rider of Rs 100 for riding without helmet.
To their shock, the youngster whipped out a bloodsoaked knife and said, “Forgive me, sir. I stabbed my friend just now, and was heading to the police station to surrender.”
The shocked officials seized the knife from the rider and immediately alerted their seniors.
The rider identified as Sandeep Shetty aged 26 is a resident of Chikkaballapura town. He reportedly stabbed his friend-cum-business partner Devaraj whose condition is critical, TOI reports.
“Investigations revealed that Sandeep, a bachelor, had given Devaraj Rs 1 lakh to be invested in real estate. Devaraj, who has a cooking oil shop near Bazar Street, refused to return the money,” Chikkaballapura deputy SP Prabhushankar told.
The duo was found to be business partners in the real estate business. The Police learned that Sandeep had given money to Devaraj two years back for investing in real estate.
“However, Devaraj did not invest the money and Sandeep begun forcing Devaraj to return it,” the deputy SP added.
When Sandeep asked Devraj to return his money he yelled at him and asked Sandeep to forget this money which infuriated Sandeep.
Angered with his refusal to return his money, Sandeep pulled out a knife and stabbed Devaraj on his back and stomach, police said.
When people herd Devraj screaming in pain after the attack, they rushed to his help.
