The 19-MP Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee announced here on Tuesday to withdrew support to the UPA government.“anti-people decisions” to allow FDI in Multi-brand retail, raise the price of diesel, petrol and cap the subsidy on cooking gas. She kept open offer that if UPA withdraws some measures till friday she is willing to consider .All TMC 6 Minister will go to Delhi on Friday 5.00 pm to submit resignation.
“We have decided that we are not going to be part of UPA 2… we have decided to withdraw support,” she said.
Petrol,Diesel prices should be withdrawn by Rs. 3 to 4…and FDI deciion should be taken back.
It is unfortunate for me to announce all this… We have decided to withdraw support to UPA-II Ms. Banerjee told journalists that the unanimous decision was taken at an extended meeting here of all MPs, some Ministers in the State and senior leaders of the party.
We gave an ultimatum hoping that good sense would prevail. But they did not respond. Despite being the second largest partner in the UPA, the Trinamool was never shown the respect due to it.
Accusing the Congress of playing the politics of “blackmail”, Mamata said, “When they have a problem with me, they go to Mayawati. When they have a problem with Mayawati, they go to Mulayam. When they have a problem with Laluji they go to Nitish… I understand their game. I cannot allow this. Enough is enough.
Ms. Banerjee said she was beginning to wonder whether the recent announcements were a Congress tactic to divert attention from the coal blocks allocation scandal. Is it a fact that to suppress Coalgate they started this FDI-gate?
