Kolkata, January 17: The West Bengal government today declared a paid state holiday in all government offices tomorrow in memory of former chief minister Jyoti Basu who passed away today.
State Chief Secretary Asok Mohan Chakraborty said all non-government offices and educational institutions had been requested to declare a holiday.
Chakraborty said a decision to declare a 3-day state mourning was yet to be made. National flags would fly at half-mast during the mourning period expected to be declared shortly.
