‘Believe us and we will give you ‘ticket’ and ‘other things’: BJP leader lures Muslim voters

New Delhi: With elections just around the corner now, BJP is strategizing to increase their vote banks by luring the minority Muslim community which the party has neglected in the past five years is only now reaching out to the Muslim community.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Karnataka, KS Eshwarappa has triggered fresh a controversy on Monday in an appeal to Muslim community voters where he said the saffron party is willing to give tickets and other things to Muslim candidates, TN reports.

The Muslim community on the other hand in India has always been neglected with political parties using minority communities for their political gains.

Addressing minority communities in Koppal district, the former deputy chief minister of Karnataka stated that the BJP doesn’t give tickets to any Muslim candidate in the state as they don’t believe in the party.

“Congress uses you only as a vote bank, doesn’t give you a ticket. We won’t give Muslims tickets because you don’t believe in us. Believe us and we will give you tickets and other things,” Eshwarappa said.

Well, this is not the first time where a BJP leader has made any controversial statements based on caste and religion.

Previously Union minister Ananthkumar Hegde has lashed out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi for questioning the Balakot air strikes and said that Gandhi should give a proof of his DNA to establish he is a Brahmin.

“The entire world is talking about our might and valour. They want proof of our IAF’s air strikes against Pakistan. But how did the son of a Muslim become a Brahmin named Gandhi?” the Minister of State for Skill Development had questioned.
