Believe It or Not: Baba Ramdev medicine promises you a Baby Boy

Yoga Guru Ramdev has once again lands him in a fresh controversy and this time about his medicine that provide remedy for infertility.

The products “Divya Putrajeevak Seed” presented by the pharmacy of Baba Ramdev help in curing infertility and guarantee the birth of a boy.

Patanjali Pharmacies, a chain of shops owned by Ramdev, described the medicine as a natural herb and is available for Rs. 35 a packet.

According to some doctors, the medicine does not promise a male child, but the name is misleading, who point out that “Putrajeevak” means “son’s life.”

“Those who have a boy tell others that they had a boy because they took the medicine from us,” says Dr Shyam Sunder, who works at a Ramdev medicine store.

“The message we get from Swamiji (Ramdev) says that if you’re not having a son then you can take this Putrajeevak medicine which may help you,” he told NDTV.

The medicine is mostly sold out in the state of Haryana which has one of the country’s worst sex ratio and where PM Modi launched a campaign the last week to save the girl child and also started the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Abhiyan.
And of late, Baba Ramdev was named the ambassador of Haryana by the state’s BJP government.
