Beijing remarks twisted by Media : Azad

Hyderabad, July 19:The Congress General Secretary in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Tuesday that his remarks relating to formation of Telangana state in Beijing were twisted by media which created confusion. Speaking to media persons he said that what he intended was not to create any controversies.

He said that the people of three regions could sit together and sort out the issue. The people have been living in unison with love and affection for centuries together and they should continue to live like this in the centuries to come.

He further said that the Srikrishna committee in its report gave six options and did not give one single solution; therefore we are trying to find out a rightful solution to the tangle. This is a long process and naturally will take a long time.

After meeting the Seemandhra delegation consisting of 60 leaders he said that he could not have talks with a huge delegation, if small groups from all the three regions come forward we can have fruitful talks, he added. There are differences of opinion which could be sorted out by dialogue.

Azad further said that he spoke to K. Jana Reddy and K. Keshav Rao for two three times and even he spoke to them today.

Asked if there is any proposal to solve the issue before the ensuing Monsoon session of the Parliament, he retorted the Problem is long standing and cannot be solved overnight.
