Raigarh: In a suspected case of human sacrifice, adecapitated body of a teenage boy was found today near a village in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, police said.
“The body of the teenager was found on a ground on the outskirts of Gorkha village under Kotra Road police station limits this morning,” said Raigarh Additional Superintendent of Police, UBS Chauhan.
The head of the boy was found lying a few meters away from the body, the officer said, adding that identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained.
“During investigation of the spot, police found some material for carrying out a ritual, including incense sticks and earthen light lamps, besides a sharp-edged weapon, which indicates that some ‘puja’ was performed at the murder place,” he said.
Prima facie it is the case of human sacrifice but the investigation is also being carried out on angle of murder due to an enmity, the ASP added.
A case was registered and efforts are on to trace the culprits, he added.
