Begumpet Task Force Office Blast Case: HC accepts appeal against exoneration of the accused

Hyderabad: The appeal filed by Telangana Police against the exoneration of 10 accused persons in Begumpet Task Force Office Blast Case has been accepted by the High Court.

On 10th August this year, VII Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Nampally Criminal Court had exonerated 10 innocent Muslim youths in the case.

It may be mentioned that the blast had taken place at Begumpet Police Task Force Office on 12th October 2005.

The judge in his judgment said that the prosecution failed to prove the seizure of explosive material and criminal conspiracy whereas Special Investigation Team in its charge sheet had claimed that Motasim Bilal, a native Bangladesh had exploded the bomb in the Task Force Office and he was associated with a terrorist organization. In this accident, a Home Guard was killed on the spot. SIT had pleaded the court for giving stern punishment to the accused but the judge exonerated the arrested persons.

Against the judgment of the Sessions Court, Telangana Police decided to approach the court. Its appeal has been accepted by High Court of Hyderabad.
