Beginning of change, says Jagan

Hyderabad, May 14: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who won the Kadapa Lok Sabha byelection with a massive mandate has said that this was the ‘beginning of far reaching changes that are going to take place in the state in the days to come.’ Speaking to reporters here, the MP-elect said: The results are a slap on the face of the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party; The Congress leaders had resorted to cheap electoral politics.

“They pretended they had respect for late YSR. But the people did not trust them and taught a fitting lesson to it. Similarly, the TDP, which is the principal opposition party, had joined hands with the Congress to target me, forgetting that it had to fight on behalf of the people,” he said.

Asked if he would bring down the state government, he said though he very much wanted to do it, it may not happen since the Congress had the backing of the Telugu Desam. “What can I do. The poor would be too happy to see the government go. But the government would not collapse since there is this unethical alliance between the Congress and the TDP,” he said.

Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would announce the party ideology at its plenary to be held on July 8, the birth anniversary of late YSR. “In fact there is no need for announcing any ideology since the flag of the party conveys it all,” Jagan said.
