Mumbai, September 20: In a bid to increase the competition in mobile handset market, India’s mobile operator giant Bharti Airtel has announced to foray into the handset market by the end of this fiscal.
Bharti group’s sister company, Beetel Teletech Ltd will launched cellphone handset in Indian market by the end of this fiscal.
With the launch Beetel mobile phone, the customers will have another option for new and unique handset.
The CEO of the Beetel Teletech Ltd, Vinod Sawhny, said that company has decided to launch feature rich affordable handset in the market.
Sawhny said that the mobile phones in the price range of Rs 2,000-6,000 have been in high demand and company will produce multimedia-rich handset in affordable range.
He said that manufacturing of Beetel mobile phones will be done out side India. He said that manufacturing of Beetel mobile phones will be done out side India.
Beetel will introduce eight different handsets that will have features like dual SIM support, FM and camera. Apart from that, Beetel will also introduce a gaming phone with QWERTY keypad, a triple SIM (GSM+GSM+CDMA), phone with a full movie and a 3G supporting phone.
The handset would not be limited to Airtel’s mobile services.
Sawhny said, “We shall be talking to all the GSM players for bundling our handsets and it will not be restricted to only the group’s flagship company.”
Well, coutomers will have to wait till early next year for Beetel Mobile handset.
