A couple has been detained in Janjgir–Champa district of Chhatisgarh for cow slaughter and allegedly selling beef.
Gulab lehri, a cobbler by profession has been accused of cow slaughter and then selling the beef. The unpleasant incident has led to panic in the area and constant fear of communal violence is there. Some people perceived the incident to be against a particular community and caste.
Tittle-tattles are also spreading fast creating a simmering situation in the area. According to Police, the situation is under control and is being monitored very minutely.
