A large number of B.Ed. students from all corners of the State poured into city and staged a mammoth dharna at Indira Park Dharna Chowk on Thursday demanding that the State government make them eligible for the SGT post in the DSC.
The protestors demanded that the government make Telugu medium students eligible to seek admissions in the Model Schools. They also demanded reduction of 10 marks in the minimum marks for eligibility to appear for TET.
Demanding that the government keep the future of some 6.50 lakh B.Ed candidates in view and make them eligible for SGT posts in the DSC, the protestors bemoaned that their future will be in dark if the government failed to take a favorable decision in this regard. They urged the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to take immediate action in this regard.
Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah visited the dharna camp and pledged his support to their demand. (NSS)
