B.Ed. course will be for two years from next year

According to a press note issued by Department of School Education, B.Ed. course will be of two years duration from the academic year 2015-16. Govt. has decided to change its syllabus also. Since the syllabus of the State Govt. from VI to X class has been changed. These changes will form part of the next B.Ed. course. In addition to routine subjects, computer education will also be included in the syllabus.

According to the sources, Govt. of Telangana had organized a workshop though SCERT in which educational experts, Deans and Heads of Departments of all the Universities in Telangana State participated. Director of School Education, Director of SCERT and the coordinator of the courses also participated in it. In the workshop, it was decided to coordinate the activities the departments of school education and higher education in order to affect the changes in B.Ed. syllabus. Steps have already been taken to change D.Ed. course in the light of guidelines formulated by National Council of Teachers’ Education. It is proposed that information about Telangana will be added to the syllabus of D.Ed. course.
