London, July 19: Former England captain David Beckham may join the English Premiership clubs to be in shape for the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.
Chelsea and Tottenham are ready to sign Beckham, the Mail newspaper reported on Sunday.
“Spurs and Chelsea target Beckham,” the paper said on its website.
Beckham who had been loaned by US Major League Soccer outfit LA Galaxy to AC Milan in the second half of last season returned to the US earlier this week.
New Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was highly impressed with the 34-year-old midfielder at San Siro during his five-month stint, according to the Mail.
Last week, Beckham hinted a return might just be on the cards, having previously said otherwise.
“Never say never. I’d definitely consider it. When I left, my heart was in Manchester – I couldn’t see myself playing against United. Now I wouldn’t rule it out,” former Man United player said.
