BE, Med admission counselling from July first week

Hyderabad, June 13: Web-based counselling for admissions to engineering, medical, agriculture and pharmacy courses based on Eamcet rank will begin in the first week of July.

According to the web-based system, students will be given admission online. The students will have to go to one of the 50 helpline centres to get their certificates verified and will be given passwords. They will be able to access their admission web page by using the password. The students will be given the password only if they show their hall ticket, Eamcet rank card and date of birth proof at the helpline centre. Those who forget the password or who want to change it will have to repeat the process at the helpline centre.

The next step would be to indicate their desired colleges. “The students should opt for a large number of colleges so that they will get admission in one of them,” chairman, state council of higher education, K C Reddy, said at a media conference.

Officials said students should keep their password confidential as malpractices could occur if some miscreant changes their options. They will be given at least 10 days time to submit their final list of colleges.

“After the last date, the students’ options will be frozen. No further change will be allowed and the final admission list will be given,” Reddy said. The students will be able to take admissions after the final list is made. Reddy said the fee structure for the engineering courses will be decided by the end of June.
