Hyderabad: As BC Commission flooded with representations on the 3rd day of hearing, it has decided to extend the date till Monday 19th December 2016. Mr. Amer Ali Khan has requested the people of Telangana who have not submit their representations yet to go through reply2bc.in and submit.
Representations poured in on the 3rd day of public hearing on Enhancement of Reservations for Socially and Educationally Backward Communities among Muslims in education and employment. Pro & anti reservation organisations presented their views with their stand in favour or against the quota. While the Muslim bodies belonging to the city and districts made representation in favour of reservations, various organisations of backward classes objected on the separate quota for Muslims. BC organisations had to say that Muslims should be provided reservations without affecting BC quota. Some BC organisations even warned of protest in case of recommendation for enhancement in Muslim quota.
Chairman BC Commission BS Ramulu, along with 3 members, began hearing on the third day. Nearly 98 representations were received by the time hearing ended, which included a few individual representations also. Besides Muslim organisations and institutions, minority leaders of some political parties also demanded enhancement in Muslim quota by approaching the Commission.
In the backdrop of Sudhir Commission of Enquiry report, BC Commission was requested to submit a comprehensive report. Delegation of Social Initiative for legal Remedies led by senior most retd. IAS officer Mohammed Shafeeq uz Zaman logically argued in favour of reservations before BC Commission.
