Hyderabad: Telangana State BC and Castes Associations JAC today demanded that the State government construct BC Bhavans first before taking up works on new Secretariat and Assembly building complexes.
The Telangana State BC Castes Associations’ JAC met here under the leadership of its chairman Kundaram Ganesh Chary and passed resolutions in the presence of leaders from BC and Castes associations.
Telangana State BC leader Jajula Srinivas Goud, who was the chief guest said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao performed “Bhoomi Puja” for new Secretariat and Legislature buildings even as the existing buildings are in a good condition wasting precious time and people’s money. He said when the BC leaders sought BC Bhavans, GO no 189 was released on September 5 last year allocating 68 acres of land, but till now no work was started. He demanded that the government starts “Bhoomi pooja” within one week, otherwise all the BC and castes association will launch “Maha Diksha” at Indira Park. He also criticized the Chief Minister for shaking hands with Andhra celebrities but has no time to apply his mind for Hajipur and Warangal victim families.
Srinivas Goud also demanded that the KCR government allocate five acres land to each BC and Caste Bhavan on par with TRS party offices in 33 districts. He also demanded that the government constitute a finance corporation for each BC and caste community and release adequate funds. The other demands are: Conduct elections as per Old Municipalities’ Act and provide 33% reservation for BC communities; withdrawal of proposed ordinance on BC reservations; government must take up census of BC population and implement Rs 25,000 crore BC sub-plan; Construction of BC Bhavan in Hyderabad in 100 acre land and install a bronze statue of Mahatma Jyothibha Phule.
Ganeshachary also warned that they would launch protests and dharnas before all the district Headquarters, Collectorates, Revenue Divisional Offices from the second week of July.
