New Delhi, July 25: Chief Minister K Rosaiah said on Saturday clarified that the lease on the Bayyaram mines has been suspended temporarily while a re-survey is conducted on the status of mineral wealth in the mines.
Talking to media persons in the National Capital, Mr Rosaiah said that the state government has no authority to suspend any mining lease agreement.
He said that only the Central government can strike off a mining lease agreement.
Mr Rosaiah said that the re-survey was ordered to ascertain the mineral wealth in the Bayyaram mines after the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation signed an MoU with a mining company.
