Bayyaram Mines were Allotted to Rakshana Steels Only To Benefit YSR Family: Anam

Stating that the Opposition demand for setting up of a steel plant in Bayyaram was not at all wrong, Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said previous YSR government had allotted Bayyaram mining area to an extent of one lakh acres to the Rakshana Steels purely for the benefit of the family of then chief minister.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, the Finance Minister reminded that the allotment of Bayyaram mines to the Rakshana Steels was scrapped by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. Refuting the criticism of YSRCP leaders against Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Anam ridiculed Jagan’s lieutenants saying they were in such a heinous position that they cannot utter the name of their party chief proudly. He also demanded that YSRCP leader Balineni Srinivas Reddy, who had claimed that he had signed the file relating to the cancellation of Bayyaram mines to Rakshana Steels, to explain first as to why the Bayyaram mines were allotted to the Rakshana Steels.

The Finance Minister has suggested to the YSRCP leaders to refrain from unnecessarily firing salvos at the Chief Minister. He also justified the action of the present government stating that Bayyaram iron ore to the Visakha Steel Plant was allotted to the extent necessary. (NSS)
