London: Barcelona produced yet another sparkling performance as they snuck past ten-man Real Betis 2-0 to reclaim top spot in the La Liga table.
After a goalless first half, midfielder Ivan Rakitic took full advantage of a defensive mix-up between defender Real Betis defender German Pezzella and goalkeeper Antonio Adan to put his side ahead in the 50th minute.
Barcelona doubled their lead when star striker Lionel Messi passed the ball to Luis Suarez, who scored his 54th goal of the season in the 81st minute, the Guardian reported.
The match also saw Real Betis reduce to ten men when defender Heiko Westermann was dismissed for his second yellow card ten minutes before the half-time.
Luis Enrique’s side, which have 27 wins from 36 games they had played, will next play against Espanyol on May 8. (ANI)
