Regional News Unit of All India Radio of Hyderabad got two Akashvani national awards for 2011.
Mr. Baquer Mirza, Deputy Director of AIR (incharge of news) got the best regional news event award. Ms. Supra Shanthi Devi got the award of best news editor. The regional news unit of Hyderabad got these awards for the first time.
These awards were given in a function held in New Delhi in which Mr. Mani Shankar Tiwari was present as the chief guest. The other dignitaries include Ms. Mrinal Pandey, Chairperson of Prasar Bharathi, Mr. Uday Kumar Verma, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Jawahar Sarkar, CEO of Prasar Bharathi, Ms. Archana Dutta, Director General of AIR(News), Mr. Mandaloyi, Director General of AIR.
