Banks have no interest in providing loans to minorities

Nationalized banks have been repeatedly issued directions by the government to issue loans to poor minorities but nationalized banks paid no need to the government’s directions. It seems that apart from banks, government also lacks interest in provident loans to the minorities otherwise it would have showed interest to ensure issuance of bank loans to minorities.

Bank loan scheme to poor Muslims was started by the Minority Finance Corporation in the state but due to lack of support from the nationalized banks, corporation failed to reach the target.

It is said that Minority Finance Corporation had issued 3.8 crore rupees and subsidy was granted to 2077 beneficiaries till February 2012, while the target was 2900 persons.
