Hyderabad, November 11: A local court trying multi-crore Satyam fraud case today recorded the statement of Citi Bank Vice-President Vinit Puri as a witness in the case.
Puri, presently working in Hong Kong, appeared before the XXI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s court as one of the prosecution witnesses in the case and informed the court about the transactions of Satyam Computer between 2001 and 2008.
A Citi Bank official, Puri had worked as branch head at Hyderabad office before being sent to Hong Kong.
He informed the court that Satyam Computers had seven current accounts in the bank.
Puri, who had flown in from Hong Kong to depose in the court, also informed the court that some documents seized by the investigating agency have been sent to Mumbai office for verification.
