Bank loans to SHGs through Women’s Co-operative

Hyderabad, May 30: The Women’s Cooperative Finance Corporation will soon work as the nodal agency for mid-way financing of self-helf groups.

The government will provide a working capital to the corporation towards this.

According to sources in the chief minister’s office, the chief minister, while interacting with the chief executives of banks at the SLBC meeting, told them of his decision.

He assured bankers that the government would and extend the fullest possible support and cooperation in recovering the loans extended to the SHGs.

He thanked the banks for honouring their commitment under SHG Bank linkage Programme by lending Rs 7,082 crore against the target of Rs 7,053 crore. Only in Adilabad district did the target fall short by 40 per ent.

The Zilla Samakhyas and the IKP staff of the remaining districts achieved their targets and the chief minister wanted the bankers and the IKP Staff to gear up for achieving the SHG bank linkage target of Rs 9,082 crore during 2011-12.
