Melbourne, Dec 21: Five weeks after being separated in a miracle surgery, conjoined Bangladeshi twins Trishna and Krishna were released from the hospital today and will for the first time celebrate their birthday as two different identifies.
The twins moved to their guardian Moira Kelly’s house here after being discharged from hospital apparently looking forward to their joint third birthday feast tomorrow.
“They just decided that they were well enough and it would be good for them to be home for their birthday,” Julie Webber, a spokeswoman for the Royal Children’s Hospital, was quoted.
“I look forward to seeing them live a long and happy life; that’s my wish for them,” neurosurgeon Wirginia Maixner said.
The twins, who were joined-at-the-head with shared blood vessels in the brain, were successfully separated on November 17 by Australian doctors after a marathon 36-hour once-in-a-life time surgery.
