Patna: A Bangladeshi national was arrested from the passport office here today for applying for a Indian passport on the basis of a Aadhaar card which he got giving false address, police said.
The man arrested has been identified as Ahmad Al Fahad of Memansingh village of Bangladeshi who was trying to get a passport on the basis of a Aadhaar card issued to him on the false address of Khajauli in Madhubani district, Station House Officer (SHO) of Shashtri nagar police station Birendra Kumar Yadav said.
The arrest was made from Passport office under Shashtri nagar police station in the capital town.
The SHO said that during questioning the arrested man told police that he came to Kolkata from Bangladesh. From Kolkata he went to Mumbai where he stayed in a hotel for 20-25 days recently.
During his stay at Mumbai he came into contact of one Deepak Kumar Chaudhary who brought him to his home at Khajauli in Madhubani district. Chaudhary’s mother Usha Devi is the sarpanch.
With the help of sarpanch and Chaudhary, the Bangladeshi got a Aadhaar card made on a false address of Khajauli, the SHO said.
Police is further interrogating the arrested Bangladeshi to elicit more details from him, the SHO added.
