Bangladesh officials’ team interact with GHMC Commissioner

A 31-member delegation of senior officers of Bangladesh government in the cadre of Deputy Secretary, Deputy Director and others,  as a part of capacity-building program on “good governance and effective public administration” and as a part of study tour in coordination with Administrative Staff College of  India called on GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy today at the GHMC Head Office.

The GHMC Commissioner welcomed the delegation and interacted with the delegates and exchanged views pertaining to Administrative and developmental activities of civic related issues. Some of the delegates had a personal interaction with the Commissioner and enquired about the Revenue sources, Generation, Street Vendor Policy, Footpath Encroachments, Convergence meeting, Biometric and other related subjects on Administration.

Responding to the queries of the delegates, the Commissioner said the GHMC was the first Municipal Corporation in the country to implement E-Office and over one lakh of around 6.5 lakh in E-office were cleared. The Commissioner also explained about the online property tax collection, trade licenses, issuing of building permissions, loans through bank linkage to SHGs, 2BHK housing schemes and various other developmental activities of the GHMC.

  1. Jayaraj Kennedy, AC (IT&Finance) has given a power point presentation on the initiatives of the GHMC and various other IT initiatives and Biometric issuing of building permission through online and various other administrative related matters through the presentation.

The visiting delegates have thanked the Commissioner and officials of the GHMC for explaining the initiatives of the GHMC and requested the Commissioner and officials to visit Bangladesh to have better cordial relations. C. Ramakrishna, AC (Admn) and senior officials of the GHMC and administrative Staff College participated in the interaction session with the visiting delegates at the GHMC Head Office today. (NSS)
