Kolkata, July 12: Bangladesh is keen on developing an art gallery at Jorasanko, Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home, on his 150th birth anniversary.
“The art gallery would rekindle myriad memories about the bard in Bangladesh, including a replica of Kuthibari where he used to stay and his dance and drama would be occasionally performed at the complex,” the outgoing Deputy High Commissoner of Bangladesh in Kolkata Masud Mahmood Khundoker said today.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had already discussed the issue in New Delhi during her last visit there in January this year, he said.
Khundoker today called on West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
During his meeting with Bhattacharjee, Khundoker urged him to work towards furthering Indo-Bangladesh ties with major emphasis on the relation between Bangladesh and West Bengal
