Chittagong, January 18: Bangladesh scored 242 in its first innings against India in the first Test in progress at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Tuesday.
A 108-run seventh-wicket partnership between vice-captain Mushfiqur Rahim (44) and allrounder Mahmudullah (69) helped Bangladesh recover from early setbacks to finish just a run behind India’s first innings score of 243.
After reeling at 98 for six at one stage in its first innings while the Indian seam trio of Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and S. Sreesanth ran amok, Bangladesh recovered lost ground before losing a clutch of wickets to leg-spinner Amit Mishra here on Tuesday.
