St Lucia, July 10: Bangladesh Bat First In Rain Interrupted MatchThe first day of the first test match between Bangladesh and West Indies was interrupted by rain as Bangladesh scored 42 runs without any loss of wicket after a delayed start due to damp ground conditions at St Lucia.
Although, Tino Best and Kemar Roach was impressive with the new ball but both the Bangladesh openers, Tamim Iqbal (14) and Imrul Kayes (26), easily negotiated them to resist on the crease in the seaming conditions
The match was delayed due to rain and they were forced to call early for tea after another rain interruption and finally torrential downpour caused to call off the play on the first day of test match.
It should be noted that West Indies players had refused to play in the International match after boycott of West Indies Player Association (WIPA) over a payment and contract issue and the West cricket board announced an inexperienced squad, which included 9 uncapped players for the first test match.
