Kurnool, December 16: The former Mayor of Kurnool and senior TDP leader, Mr Bangi Ananthaiah, who is known for staging novel protests, has done it again.
This time, Mr Ananthaiah expressed his protest against the steep hike in petrol and diesel prices that come into effect from Wednesday, peddled a cycle-rickshaw. He also hit himself with his own slipper saying that it was time to dislodge the Congress government at the Centre from power.
The TDP leader said that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre hiked petrol prices several times causing inflation and breaking backbone of the masses. Pointing out that the Congress government resorted to increase petrol prices five times this year, Mr Ananthaiah charged the government with having no concern over the problems of the people. He also said that the Congress has forfeited the people’s confidence by resorting to anti-people policies.
It may be mentioned here that on earlier occasion, Mr Ananthaiah staged a novel protest by wearing a sari. When the first part of Mr Ramgopal Verma’s “Raktha Charitra” was released, the TDP leader staged a novel protest saying that the film was against late NTR and blasted the film director vehemently.
