Bandh against desecration of Ambedkar Statues

Hyderabad, January 30: (Siasat News) Treating the desecration of Dr. Ambedkar’s statues as a humiliation to the nation, Osmania University Students JAC gave a call for Bandh for today in the entire state.

A round table conference was held at Sundarya Vigayana Kendram in which students’ organization and Dalit Associations participated. M.B. Ravi President, Telangana JAC presided over the conference. The participants unitedly demanded the Govt. to take action against those who are responsible for the desecration of Dr. Ambedkar’s statues. They also appealed to people to make the Bandh a success. Mr. Y.V. Venkateshwara Rao member of CPIM Secretariat demanded the state Govt. to conduct an enquiry. He told that the statues were damaged only because of political motives. He criticized the Govt. for keeping silent, Mr. M. Narasimhulu, TDP MLA said that this act is very painful. Mr. N. Narasimha Reddy, former minister requested the Govt. to conduct an enquiry by a high court judge. Prof. Kancha Ilaiah and other leaders also spoke on this occasion.
