The Advisory Committee of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is actively considering imposing a ban on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and other social website. Dr. Faiz Asshari, in a statement said that imposing ban on social website is the right of the government. Many countries have imposed such bans in order to curb crimes. He further said that some websites are spreading anarchy and causing harm to social life. He also said that search engine like Google and Yahoo offer their services only for commercial purposes. They do not have any program to benefit the Arab nationals. He informed that any website which causes social anarchy will be block. The bill pertaining to Cyber Crimes was introduced 8 years back in Advisory Council of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It will now be presented with more amendments. There is a recommendation in the bill to impose ban on all the social websites which promote terrorism and anti-social materials. There is a proposal to execute the persons involved in extremism, terrorism, sectarianism, witch craft and gambling. This bill gains importance since Saudi Arabia has arrested many extremists who had associations with ISIS. It is reported that these extremists have confessed that they had used social media for communication.
