“Ban Islam and deport Muslim from Sweden”: Far-right urges

A far-right Swedish politician Par Norling called for banning Islam in Sweden and deporting Muslims from the country. The Local newspaper reported Sunday, August 26.

Fueling the anti-Muslim sentiments of far-right groups, the Swedish politician said in an interview with National Broadcaster TV “Ban Islam in Sweden and deport those who persist in believing in the religion”.

This is not the first time that a far-right politician attacked Islam, there are series of anti-Islam tide is on the rise in Sweden including the International meeting in Sweden to condemn the so called “Islamization of Europe”. And the march in Bollnas a Central Swedish town to denounce Islam.

However, Par Norling’s comments condemned by Sven-Erik Karlsson another far-right politician, who stands for Somali refugees and said all Swedish municipalities ought to have gangs to harass refugees. Commenting on the harassment of Somali families by Swedish teens in the town Forserum in southern Sweden.

The far-right politician had to resign after his comments caused widespread outrage.

According to the leaders of the Muslim minority. Muslims make up some 400,000 of the country’s nine million people.

The party’s manifesto itself describes Muslims as “seriously jeopardizing the Swedish nation”.

The party even seeking a ban on face-veil and halting immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.
