City Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy has prohibited bursting of fire crackers on public roads and public places during Deepawali festival celebrations. He also informed that the ban will be in force from 6 am on November 10 to 6 am on November 13.
In a pressnote here, the Police Commissioner has stated that as per the Supreme Court directive, there shall be complete ban on bursting sound emanating fire crackers on the public roads and public places in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad between 10 pm and 6 am. The noise level from crackers, drums and other instruments should not exceed the permissible limits as notified by the Pollution Control Board between 6 am and 10 pm, he added.
The city police chief also warned that any citizen violating the order will be prosecuted under relevant laws. (NSS)
