Balochistan arrest: Father, uncle worked with Mumbai police

Balochistan: KULBHUSHAN JADHAV, former Indian Navy Officer who was arrested in Balochistan and described as an “Indian spy” by Pakistan, became a businessman after taking premature retirement from the Navy and often travelled across the world, according to sources close to his Mumbai-based family, as published Dailyhunt.

Kulbhushan Jadhav was son of Sudhir Jadhav, who retired as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in Mumbai around eight years ago. They added that his uncle, Subhash Jadhav, was in charge of the Bandra police station in 2002 when the hit-and-run case was registered there against Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

According to sources, Kulbhushan family stays in Hirnandani Gardens, an upmarket area in suburban Powai, but did not reveal the nature of Jadhav’s business. The family suspects that Jadhav was being “framed as part of a larger political conspiracy”, said sources.

Bhushan last spoke to his family members around three months ago, they said. “He sought premature retirement from the Indian Navy to start his own business and travelled around the world in connection with his business,” said sources close to the family.

“He carried all the necessary documents whenever he travelled out of the country. He has travelled around the world in connection with his business,” they said, adding that the family was planning to leave for its hometown in Solapur over the weekend.

According to Pakistani officials, one of the passports recovered from Bhushan was allegedly issued from Sangli in Maharashtra in the name of Husain Mubarak Patel.
