The famous Balkampet Yellamma Kalyana Mahotsavam will be conducted on June 27 in a grand manner, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav said here today. He asked the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the three day festival of Yellamma Goddess beginning June 26 and culminating on 28, while the main Kalyana Utsavam will be celebrated on June 27.
At a review meeting with officials concerned at Secretariat, the minister said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will attend the Kalyana Utsavam of Yellamma Goddess at the temple. KCR is to lay foundation stone for parking place near the temple on the same day, he said. The minister said that festivals in Telangana are being celebrated in a grand and significant manner, as KCR is giving top priority for them. Since the famous temple is to attract huge number of devotees from various places, cleansing and sanitation drive should be conducted. The minister instructed the officials to make arrangements for at least one lakh of drinking water sachets for the devotees.
He asked them to remove garbage near parking place and take immediate steps to upkeep the area and ensure that there is no drainage leakage near the temple. Srinivas Yadav directed them to provide basic amenities including drinking water, uninterrupted power supply with mobile transformers, sanitation, parking, diversion of traffic for three days, barricading and others. About 80,000 devotees are expected to turn op to have the darshan of the Goddess Yellamma. He asked the officials to make use of voluntary organization services, the police wing to provide security, cc cameras for regular monitoring of the event and conduct of cultural programs to reflect Telangana tradition to suit the occasion.
