Visakhapatnam, September 28: Condemning the attacks on leaders and government officials by the Telangana activists, Tribal Welfare Minister P Balaraju on Tuesday stated that everyone has freedom to express his opinion in a democratic country.
Talking to media persons, Balaraju said that the constitution has given freedom of expression to everyone and “it is not good to resort to attacks on persons just for having difference of opinions.” He said that the attack on leaders was a clear cut violation of rights given under the constitution. He said that the government would take stringent action against all those who resort to violence in violation of democratic norms.
Stating that the Centre has to take a final decision on the creation of Telangana statehood, the Minister asked how the leaders could accuse the state government of being an obstacle in formation of Telangana State. He expressed confidence that the Centre would find a solution to Telangana issue soon.
