Film Star-cum-TDP legislator, Nandamuri Balakrishna, lauded A. P. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his excellent job in giving the cyclone affected people the much needed moral support and courage besides taking all steps to mitigate their sufferings for want of food and shelter.
Balakrishna who was on a tour of the cyclone affected areas of the three North-coastal districts was interacting with the media and said that he was shocked beyond words on seeing the unprecedented havoc caused by the cyclone. He was saddened at the way the Vizag City, which was very popular with tourists, was completely wiped out of its greenery.
The los due to the devastation is unimaginable, he observed. He also handed a cheque for Rs.35 lakhs as hi9s personal contribution to the CM’s Relief Fund.
Donations continued to pour to the CM’s Relief Fund for taking ypo relief measures in the cyclone affected areas. The pharma giant, Hispira, handed over a cheque of Rs.60 lakhs for relief works, while the AP Fishermen Association presented a cheque for Rs.20 lakhs and Krishna District Lorry Owners Association donated Rs.10 lakhs.
