Noted actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, on Tuesday, said that he would campaign in the ensuing by-elections on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party.
Talking to media persons after participating in a program of nursing students at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Institute, Balakrishna said that he would campaign for the Telugu Desam if the party directs him to do so.
Responding to a question on whether he would take the responsibility for the victory of the party’s candidates in the by-elections, he said that the electorate would decide candidates’ victory and defeat.
Balakrishna refused to reply to a question on the meeting of Telugu Desam leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan with Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, which is being seen as a fallout of the cold war between TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and the progeny of the late N T Rama Rao.
It may be mentioned here that under Chandrababu Naidu, who is also Balakrishna’s brother-in-law, had issued a show-cause notice to Vallabhaneni Vamsi for his bonhomie with their rival Jaganmohan Reddy. The move is said to have been influenced by Balakrishna.
Balakrishna also reportedly asked Naidu to act tough against Vallabhaneni Vamsi, by seeking an explanation from him for meeting Jagan. (INN)
