Mumbai, January 25: The programme organised on the occasion of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s birthday in Shanmukhanada Sabhagruha in Sion on Sunday is considered as less of a celebration and more of a warning to all discontent workers of the party.
All the speakers, including the Sena chief, who addressed the crowd through a pre-recorded video, sent a clear message to the party workers. “Those who are unhappy can leave, otherwise there are people like Narayan Rane, who we threw out,” said Sena chief Bal Thackeray, sensing the unrest within the party over the appointment of certain leaders at the important positions.
“I will not tolerate unnecessary spats and disputes. People will have to follow organisational orders. Everyone should work to bring the Sena back to the power in the state,” warned Thackeray.
According to sources, the recent reshuffle within the party structure in the appointments of ward presidents has led to the tremendous unrest within the party. Sensing the same, the Sena chief has issued a clear warning to its cadre to not question the party’s central leaderships’ orders.
Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said that he will not make any political statements but clarified that he will be discuss the issue in the coming days.
