Bal Thackeray lambasts DF govt for Muslim appeasement

Mumbai, August 03: Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray has criticised the Congress-NCP government’s Muslim appeasement policy and wrong application of Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya Singh and ten others.

”I have no doubt that justice still prevails as the court removed MCOCA from Malegaon blast accused. No one should take political disadvantage by involving innocent people in any crime, but the Congress-NCP government did it in the Malegaon blast case to garner Muslim votes,” Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray said in an editorial in Shiv Sena mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ today.

Thackeray also criticised the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) for its ‘biased’ investigation in the September 2008 case. He also lambasted NCP chief Sharad Pawar for terming accused Pragya Thakur and Lt Col Prasad Purohit as Hindu terrorists.

”All this did not pay back. NCP faced worst defeat in Lok Sabha polls, Sharad Pawar’s prime ministerial dream shattered, R R Patil had to resigned as Home Minister due to Islamic terrorism and ATS chief became victim of Islamic terrorism. The country cannot be run only by Muslim appeasement,” Thacekeray said.

He also blamed the Home Department for spoiling the career of Lt Col Prasad Purohit adding that Malegaon blast was only a ploy to term Hindus as ‘terrorists’. ”Those who want to shield Afzal Guru, treat Kasab as a government guest, use ‘Third Degree’ against Pragya Thakur, they don’t want to achieve a subtle end in the Malegaon blast case.” he said alleging that the government did all this to please the Muslims for the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections and the forthcoming Legislative Assembly elections in the state.
